March 4 Collaboration and Post Closing Update: New Notifications for E-notary

Check out these highlights for our upcoming update to Simplifile Collaboration and Post Closing. These changes should go live Monday, March 4 and will be available for customer testing beginning Thursday, Feb. 28.

Reminders added for setting up notary.

When you’re added as a notary in Simplifile, you’ll now receive e-mail and in-app notifications to set up your notary credentials and upload a seal and signature.  


Reminders added to assign a notary to an e-closing loan.

If a document on the loan is flagged as needing e-notarization the word Unassigned will now appear under Third Party on the card view of a loan if the notary is missing. On the Loan Info page, the word Unassigned will appear under Third Party if the notary is missing, as well as an option to assign on the spot. When you click on the word Unassigned you’re taken to the Contacts page to assign a notary. If you decide to assign on the spot in the Loan Info page, you’ll see these options: 

  • Assign me as notary
  • Assign someone else in my org as notary
  • Assign notary role to another organization
