Simplifile, a leading provider of real estate document collaboration and recording technologies for lenders, settlement agents and counties, today announced that on Sept. 30 it set a new company record by e-recording 102,491 documents in a single day.
Surpassing the previous record of 96,696, Sept. 30 also marked the first time Simplifile recorded more than 100,000 documents in a single day. Simplifile’s e-recording network covers more than 55% of all U.S. recording jurisdictions and 80%of the nation’s population.
“This major milestone serves as yet another example of the growth in adoption of e-recording nationwide,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “We attribute this not only to our ever-growing e-recording network, but also to an overall increase in mortgage volume over recent months driven by favorable interest rates. We’re proud to offer a solution that speeds up the closing process for new homeowners.”
Through Simplifile, settlement agents can submit land records directly online to any of the 1,991 participating county recording offices. In just minutes, the county recorder can review, stamp, record and return documents to the settlement agent electronically. In addition, recording fees and associated payments can be processed directly through Simplifile’s secure service, eliminating payment errors and check-writing expenses.
